WASHINGTON AND OREGON MINIMUM WAGES INCREASE
Effective January 1, 2007, the Oregon minimum wage increases from its
current rate of $7.50 to $7.80 per hour.
Washington’s minimum wage will increase 30 cents to $7.93 an hour
beginning Jan. 1, 2007. Washington’s minimum wage applies to workers in
both agricultural and non-agricultural jobs, although 14- and
15-year-olds may be paid 85 percent of the adult minimum wage.
Both Washington and Oregon laws prohibit counting tips in meeting the
minimum wage.
Although the federal minimum wage is lower, private, state and local
employers must comply with their state's higher minimum wage
