     Our firm counsels employers on the
full range of employment issues, including union-management relations, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, sex harassment, safety and health, employee benefits, and wage and hour.  We  represent  employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies and in collective bargaining and arbitrations. 


     
     Our firm's approach to our labor relations and employment practice is to emphasize positive and preventive measures. The firm believes strongly in working with clients to prevent labor and employment problems from arising. Despite best efforts to prevent disputes, they do arise, and our firm has vast experience in representing management in court, in administrative litigation and in arbitration.

     Our experience includes the following:

  • Developing and revising policies, employee handbooks and company manuals.

  • Evaluating and assisting in decisions regarding hirings, layoffs, and terminations.

  • Assisting employers in avoiding unions and resisting union organizing drives.

  • Conducting seminars for managers and supervisors on employment law and labor relations topics.

  • Reviewing labor and employment law aspects of mergers and acquisitions, as well as the purchase, sale, opening, relocation, and reorganization of businesses.

  • Advising on the development of and compliance with affirmative action plans and assisting clients in government compliance audits.

  • Drafting employment contracts, restrictive covenants, and confidentiality agreements.

  • Assisting management in collective bargaining negotiations and developing negotiation strategies.

  • Representing management in unfair labor practice and representation proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and state and federal courts.

  • Representing management in employment litigation;

  • Obtaining and defending against temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions.
