Merril advises
companies and individual clients on planning, transactional, and
litigation matters.
A native Oregonian, Merril lived in Beijing, China, for
three years, where she studied the Chinese language and worked as a
legal assistant in the Beijing office of a major American law firm.
Merril is fluent in spoken and written Chinese.
Merril received her law degree from the University of
California, Los Angeles. At UCLA, Merril volunteered her time to
organize and take part in legal clinics with local non-profit legal
centers, and was Chief Managing Editor of the Pacific Basin Law Journal.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies with high
honors from Haverford College.
Merril is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Multnomah
Bar Association, Oregon Women Lawyers, and American Bar Association. She
is admitted to practice before Oregon state courts and the United States
District Court for the District of Oregon.
