AWARD: Miller Nash Partner Gary Christensen Wins AGC Award

PORTLAND, Ore. – Feb. 24, 2010 – Miller Nash LLP partner Gary Christensen won the Paul Emerick Training Award from the Associated General Contractors, Oregon Columbia Chapter (AGC), at the AGC's annual meeting, held Jan. 29. Christensen earned the award through his work as chair of the committee that launched and implemented "AGC University," a contractor training program for Oregon commercial contractors. The award was presented by Andrew Beyer, outgoing president of the chapter.

"We are pleased to see the AGC recognize Gary for his commitment, dedication and stewardship in creating a more robust and professional building industry in Oregon," said Don Burns, managing partner of Miller Nash. "Gary is an exceptional attorney and community volunteer, and we could not be more pleased with his accomplishments."

The Paul Emerick Training Award is the second honor bestowed on Christensen by AGC. In 2004, he won the AGC President's Award for outstanding service as legal counsel to the organization's board of directors.

Christensen was also recently selected as the 2010 chair of the Construction Law Section of the Oregon State Bar, following several years of service on the executive committee and as an officer.

Christensen has practiced law since 1988 when he joined Miller Nash. His practice focuses on construction law and commercial litigation, and he is a partner in the firm's construction law practice team. Christensen also cochairs the firm's technology committee.
